We are what's called a bygdelag: basically a group (lag) of people that share the same ancestral areas in Norway. For R-DD our ancestors hail from one of nine kommuner (communities) in Buskerud Fylke (county): Ringerike, Modum, Øvre Eiker, Nedre Eiker, Hole, Drammen, Lier, Røyken and Hurum. In 1916 the Ringerike Bygdelag was formed so we celebrated our centennial in 2016. We hosted the annual Stevne (convention), printed a commemorative book and visited our ancestral home in Norway.

Scan our emigrant log. If you think your ancestor's name is on it, become a member for 1 to 5 years and obtain access to all the data we have on file. In addition we have genealogists who are ready to help members find that long lost relative - free of charge.
