Røyken kommune
Midtbygda serves as the administrative center for the kommune.
The name of this kommune comes from the Norwegian word
for smoke "røyk" and, since smoke is hard to portray, fire is used
on its shield. The name of the kommune is
actually derived from an old farm name. It shares the peninsula
between Drammensfjord and Oslofjord with the
municipality of Hurum.
The community is served by Røyken church.
